Telegram voice chat feature

Telegram has driven new features. The Telegram’s unique features include Voice Chat for Telegram Groups, SD Card storage and new UI animation for Android version of the app, new media editor capabilities, and quick loading & better viewing animated stickers.

Telegram announced several updates, including the voice chat feature that allows groups to turn into a voice-chat room instantly and also video screen sharing feature. There are over 400 million active users on Telegram, estimated to cross the 500 million mark soon.

“Any Telegram group can be turned to a voice chat room with this new feature. Hence, it can be used as virtual office spaces for teams or casual lounges for different communities. With the Voice Chat Overlay feature, users can freely move around the app, browse conversations and send messages, while continuing connected on any voice chat. Android users also get the full Voice Chat experience with a system-wide floating widget that shows your mic controls and who is currently talking, even when Telegram is in the background. Users of Telegram Desktop and the native macOS app, can choose a push-to-talk key for Voice Chats, to control their mic even when Telegram is not focused,” Telegram stated in a statement.

Telegram will now let Android users move their app data from internal storage to an external SD card. This would assist the users in delivering up the internal storage of their devices.

Apart from this, Telegram is also rolling out new animated stickers and animated emojis for Android users

Added feature that has been rolled out for Android users includes a media editing tool that would enable users to edit a photo they have already sent to add effects, drawings or stickers with the media editor.

iOS users can tap the pen button to edit and send back a photo they have received quickly.

Telegram now intends to monetize its service with an ad platform that’s intended for one-to-many public channels. Durov explains the platform as “one that is user-friendly, respects privacy and allows us to cover the costs of servers and traffic.”

Earlier, Telegram CEO Pavel Durov announced that the company must make revenue from 2021 to keep the business going.

“Telegram will start to generate revenue, beginning next year. We will do it in accordance with our excellence and the pledges we have made over the last 7 years. Thanks to our current scale, we will be able to do it in a non-intrusive way. Most users will hardly notice any change,” Durov announced.
