Instagram will not promote Reels if its have a Watermark of other platforms

Instagram Reels

Instagram’s latest direction for creators, Instagram wants users to stop posting recycled TikToks to Reels.

Instagram announces it’s initiating adjustments to its algorithm and how it promotes Reels to users.

Along with that, it’s announcing new best practices on its @creators account to give Instagram users advice on how to make content that’s expected to be seen and promoted.

The team now suggests that Reels users post vertical videos that practice music found in Instagram’s library or sounds that they get on Reels.

They also recommend “starting a trend” that others can join in, like dance crazes, as well as “entertaining” and “fun” content.

Reels that are often covered by text, are blurry, have a watermark or logo, or have a border around them won’t be recommended as often.

“We are becoming better at using ranking signals that encourage us to predict whether people will find a reel entertaining and whether we should recommend it.”

Instagram user studies showed that people have a “less satisfying” Reels experience when content is converted from other apps or is blurry, so it’ll begin deemphasizing that content in its recommendation software.

This presents it few likely to be seen by people who aren’t following the person who posted it.

It’s no wonder these recommendations are getting six months after Reels started in the US.

Instagram might have been okay with users initially beginning their TikToks over to Instagram, but it appears to become a popular stop on its own.

Instagram requires to make sure Reels isn’t just an advertisement for TikTok, or wrong, a place where people drop whatever content they’ve previously made.

However, this might mean more extra work for creators who will likely have to shift some of their work to Reels, rather than concentrating on one platform and then sharing the content everywhere else.
