WatchOS 7 latest Apple Watch features including sleep tracking

WatchOS 7 a latest watch from apple. Apple has previously launched beta releases for its next significant updates to iOS, iPadOS, macOS, and tvOS. And today, it’s continuing watchOS to the public beta mix for the initial time

The watchOS 7 update adds new watch faces, plus more natural ways of sharing them between friends and downloading custom layouts from the web.

But the most important addition this year, and this one’s worthy of a final, is sleep tracking. watchOS 7 begins with a new Sleep app that’ll reveal to you how many hours you’re asleep each night though Apple isn’t yet jumping into the quality of sleep and several cycles.

The Apple Watch will get more fitness tracking with watchOS 7, including metrics for dance, functional strength training, core training, and cooldown activities. The Maps app is adding support for cycling directions, and Apple’s smartwatch will now automatically detect when you’re cleaning your hands and present a 20-second timer.

There are other small-but-useful developments like on-device dictation, making for much quicker speech to text and translation support with Siri.

Apple’s website has the complete list of brand-new watchOS tricks and starting today, you can test them out yourself. Just learn that, as always, beta means beta, and it’s probably best not to install the watchOS 7 public betas on your initial Apple Watch if you rely on it daily.

How to install the watchOS 7 on your Apple Watch:

  • Before you even start, you must install the iOS 14 public beta preview on your iPhone to get the watchOS 7 beta software, and you can follow instructions to do that here.
  • The watchOS 7 beta requires using a phone with the latest beta software, and you’ll need to perform the steps below from that iPhone.
  • First, you’ll need to get sure that your iPhone is running the iOS 14 public beta, so heed these instructions if you want to catch up. (Note: You’ll also require to perform the following steps from the iPhone to which your Apple Watch is paired.)
  • If you aren’t signed in at Apple’s beta portal on your iPhone, you can sign in right here, but make sure you’re utilizing the Safari web browser. A reader reported that a necessary prompt doesn’t show up if you’re using Google Chrome.
  • Click “watchOS,” the right-most option on Apple’s Guide to Public Betas page. From there, click the drop-down menu at the top of the page and select “Enroll Your Devices.”
  • The next step is to download the beta profile for your Apple Watch from your iPhone. As the site mentions, you can activate this downloaded profile by then opening Settings > General > Profiles & Device Management. Once you get that new profile, click “Install.”
  • If your Apple Watch has automated updates turned on, you’ll be notified that the public beta software is available for download through the Watch app on iPhone. Otherwise, to manually monitor for the update, open the Apple Watch app on iPhone, tap My Watch, then navigate from General to Software Update to start the install.
