Realme Narzo 10, Narzo 10A launched in India, mid-range smartphone

The new Realme Narzo series was scheduled to begin in March, but now, after many delays due to the coronavirus lockdown in India, it has undoubtedly been announced. With this new series, claimed to be uniquely “customized for Generation Z,” Realme is targeting young customers.

The Realme Narzo 10 is supposed to be a mid-range smartphone — most likely a rebadged version of the Realme 6i. At the same time, the Narzo 10A could calm down for the budget price category and have specifications similar to those of the Realme C3 triple-camera model.

The Narzo 10 appears to be a refresh of the Realme 5s. Even though Realme pretends that it’s a new model, the Narzo 10 seems to be a rebranded version of the Realme 6i, which was launched back in March in Myanmar. Meanwhile, the Narzo 10A comes over as an upgrade to the Realme C3₹ 7,499 (Review), which also had a related camera setup, battery capacity, and the Helio G70 SoC from MediaTek.

Realme streamed a pre-recorded video on YouTube at 12.30 pm sharp via its official channel on Monday, May 11. The pricing and additional details of the Narzo series are announced during the stream.

The Narzo 10 has 4GB of RAM and 128GB of storage and is priced at Rs. 11,999. This places it between the Realme 5 and the Realme 6₹ 13,999, effectively following the Realme 5s. The Narzo 10A will be available with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage, priced at Rs. 8,499. This places it just above the Realme C3.

The Narzo 10 and Narzo 10A are designed to offer best-in-class processors and large batteries. Both phones provide large, 5,000mAh batteries, G-series SoCs from MediaTek, and the RealmeUI, which is based on Android 10.

Realme India CEO Madhav Sheth said during the online launch event that these are just the first two phones in this new Realme sub-series and that we can anticipate more Narzo-branded devices in the future.

Narzo 10 comes in two different colours and a special coating that’s been designed by Japanese designer Naoto Fukasawa, who was also bound for the Master Editions of the Realme X and the Realme X2 Pro. The vertical striped design looks interesting, and from the company’s publicity images, the Narzo 10 seems to have rounded edges, which should make it comfortable to hold.

Narzo 10 is the initial phone in India with MediaTek’s Helio G80 SoC, which was declared this February and features MediaTek’s HyperEngine technology for more useful resource management.

Narzo 10 add 18W fast charging through the USB Type-C port, a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor, a triple card slot for two SIMs and a microSD card, and four cameras at the back. The one thing that sticks out is the HD+ resolution of the 6.5-inch display, which seems low for a phone priced at nearly Rs. 12,000 today. The cameras on the Narzo 10 are the usual fare, consisting of a first 48-megapixel sensor, an 8-megapixel wide-angle camera, a 2-megapixel portrait camera, and a 2-megapixel macro camera. There’s additionally a 16-megapixel selfie camera.
